stairsIn our busy lives we have a tendency to fill every moment of our schedules and automate everything we used to do by hand so we can, in turn, fill our schedules even more. We have dishwashers to save us from doing the dishes, car washes whenever we want, cleaning services to keep our houses tidy, fast food so we don’t have to cook and drive through ATM’s so we don’t have to get out of our car to do our banking.

All these services and machines bring convenience to our lives, but too much of this can creep up on us and if we don’t make time to stay fit we can find ourselves leading sedentary lives. Not a great way to live.

Here are some ways to say “no” to too much convenience and squeeze more physical activity/exercise into your busy schedule. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Clean up the house yourself. Do your dishes by hand or clear the dishwasher and turn it into a workout by doing it as fast as you can (but don’t drop any dishes). Wash your car by hand. Use a push lawn-mower. Walk to the corner store.

The more active you are throughout the day, the more healthy you will be and the healthier you are, the more you can enjoy everything in life.
